Abrasives

Abrasive Blasting Service and Supplies can supply wide range of media to suit your blast cleaning needs. The type of surface, the condition of the existing protective coating (if any), and the desired finish all need to be considered when choosing an abrasive media. Here is some helpful information that can help you make the right decision for your blast cleaning job.

Steel Shot:
Used for shot peening and relieving metal stress and fatigue

Agricultural Abrasives:
Ground corn cob, rice hulls, walnut shells and fruit pits are used on soft surfaces including plastic and aluminium

Plastic:
Dust free, synthetic media used for deflashing plastic components, cleaning electronic connections, circuit boards, dies and moulds

Glass Bead:
Generally considered the best media for most cleaning done in cabinets. Glass beads clean well, leave a fine surface and will not distort or change dimensions of most parts

Alox, Garnet, Steel Grit:
Sharp cutting angular particles that clean by cutting and etching into the surface. Depending on particle size these medias will leave an etched surface with well defined anchor pattern.
